oh how time flies...

Well I think it is safe to say I have completely failed at keeping my blog updated these last few months! But, I am back and better than ever :) I just finished my last college classes this week and I will be graduating next Saturday. And it is going to be a bittersweet ending. San Luis Obispo is one of the most amazing places and I am so blessed to have been able to live here (see website)! So what does the future hold? Well, I'm not exactly sure. But I do know it holds food and traveling! (with a little running and working mixed in) I am headed to Scotland for NYE and then I will be in Northern Cali until mid-april. But come mid-april its bye-bye North America and hello Europe for 3 months! So, stay tuned for some great adventure and food tales. Until then...
peace. love. food.

traveling, traveling, and eating

So I'm back :)
And let me just start off by saying I am in desperate need of another run event to keep me motivated and in decent shape...especially after everything I've eaten over the last few weeks!
Where to even start...well how about in Chicago...home of the deep-dish pizza and many other tasty treats! The first night there, I devoured a lovely filet mignon with a side of broccoli and mushrooms at Harry Carey's steakhouse downtown, we washed it all down with a Cabernet from Wild Horse and brownie sundae :) The meal was amazing...but my favorite part was by far the mushrooms! They were delicable (and a must have if you ever have the chance to eat there). As for the deep dish pizza, my parents and I attended a dinner at Pizza Duo and needless to say I was not impressed :( I was expecting a completely mouth-watering experience, but the crust was super thick and tasted like a pie crust should. But, that's just my personal opinion (both my parents seemed satisfied).
Ok so then it was off to my hometown near Cleveland...just in time for our local fair! Ohh is fair food good (but terrible for you). The chicken gyros and fried ice cream didn't fail to hit the spot as always. Along with all of the other amazing local joints. Places you must go if in the Cleveland suburb area: Quaker Steak and Lube (chicken wings to die for), Honey Hut Ice Cream (homemade and worth every calorie...try the Turtle sundae), and Swensons drive up (potatoe poppers and shakes to die for)
All in all, these last few weeks have been an amazing in terms of good travels, good friends, and good food. Midwest definitely has a way of getting to my heart...and stomach.
Love and workout time,

time for a little out and about...

Hey All,
Wow the last few days have been a whirlwind. I successfully completed my first half marathon yesterday :) Let me tell you, there is nothing like the taste of salty pretzels or a sweet energy gu while running in the heat for a few hours. However, those can't even hold a candle to some of the meals I am about to have in this upcoming week. I am off to Chicago, the city of deep dish pizza and unique hotdogs, followed by a little trip home to Cleveland just in time for the local homedays fair, which means deep fried ice cream! So, that half marathon was much needed before these eating endeavors commence...but I can't wait to partake! Details to follow my trip.
love and food,

“There is no sincerer love than the love of food.”

Hey All (not that I have any followers yet, but hopefully eventually),
So I have officially decided to enter the blogging world. I am graduating from Cal Poly this December and although I plan to eventually enter law school...I really don't have any idea what I want to do with my life. All I know is that I have a passion for history, traveling, and food. So, I figured why not start blogging about my eating experiences? I'm on a mission in life to do three things: live. love. eat. Feel free to follow me as I attempt to do this, if not then at least I'll have a personal record :) So thus begins my journey...
signing off for now,
food lover extraordinaire
